Beginning in the fall, Hayes Barton UMC will seek additional funding for the Well in the amount of $2,000,000 to supplement the initial pledges made in 2014. When the congregation first approved the larger project, we knew expenses would exceed pledges. We had faith in the vision and support of our congregation to sustain the incurred expenses. Building on this faith, the Second Mile Campaign will not only cover some of the unexpected costs incurred during construction (such as asbestos removal, deferred costs, code requirements, and the upgrades for the Terrace Columbarium), but also relieve our debt service, freeing up funds to allow our building to serve more people and causesin our congregation, the community, and the world.

We encourage our membership to examine the impact that the Well has had in their lives, the lives of their brothers and sisters at Hayes Barton, and in the lives of people in Raleigh and beyond. We invite you to prayerfully consider reaffirming your financial commitment to the Well campaign today; your gift will give glory to God, continuing the missions, outreach, fellowship, and formation that the Well provides. Together, we can fulfill our vision of living as faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.
