Becky Balentine (ext. 1137) has been a member of Hayes Barton since 1961 when she married her high school sweetheart, John. After many years of being a volunteer, she joined the staff in 1989 as Director of Evangelism and then added the position of Coordinator of the Elementary Dept. In 1992; she became the full-time Director of Evangelism and continued until she retired in June of 2005.

After retiring, Becky was rehired and became the Director of the In Crowd Ministry, helping the pastors with visitation. Along with Pastor Rick, she helps members plan their funerals and is also a resource for families in the church looking to move themselves or their parents from their home to a facility. She is also active in Visiting Friends; Volunteer Patient Advocacy ministry; Stephen Ministry, Cancer Support Group, and Mourning Glories (a ministry for those who have lost a child).

Becky and John have four children; (one deceased); 8 grandchildren (one deceased), all who live closeby. Over the past 27 years as a staff person, she has seen the church grow in many areas of outreach from across the ocean to inside the walls of Raleigh. It is so refreshing to see the many young families so involved in the ministries of the church. We not only dream dreams, but they become a reality because through prayer, people are eager to spread the gospel.
