Washington, NC Work Team
Last week, Hayes Barton members travelled to Washington, NC to work on an UMCOR-sponsored project for flood relief. Hayes Barton Outreach has had an ongoing commitment to UMCOR's efforts for those affected by Hurricane Matthew and recent flooding. Volunteers worked on renovating and rehabbing a mobile home that will provide housing for a flood victim. The team enjoyed a special camaraderie that comes with working toward a worthwhile goal.
Team member Ruth Bryan said, "It was hot for sure, but progress was made for the folks in Washington whose lives were measuredly impacted by Hurricane Matthew."
The team consisted of Ruth, her husband Jim Bryan, Olivia and George Fleming, Bob Smith, Bill Page, Jamie LeLiever, Doug Walter, Mike Rees, Freddie Johnson, and Tom Moore. Thanks to these volunteers for being Christ's hands and feet in Eastern NC.
