Racial Equity Institute Training

Hayes Barton UMC is proud to host an REI (Racial Equity Institute) Phase 1 Training, sponsored by Raleigh's Organizing Against Racism (OAR) chapter, on July 11and 12, 2019, from 8:30-5:15 each day. The training will be provided by the Racial Equity Institute (REI), a Greensboro-based organization that conducts such programs across the country. The training is an in-depth study of historical, cultural, structural and institutional analysis of racism and provides an opportunity for open discussion in a racially diverse group.

Participants receive: 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 snacks, and a detailed electronic workbook after the training for the total training cost of $295 per person except groups of three or more are offered a cost of $275 per person. The student rate is $175 and alumni rate is $35 per participant. A sliding scale scholarship is also offered for those individuals for whom the stated cost may be a deterrent to attending. Pre-registration for this training is currently open for Hayes Barton members and friends before registration is open to the general public.
