Hayes Barton UMW Grants Issued!

The Hayes Barton UMW Bazaar Grant application process is complete! In the Bible, God directs us to give to those in need according to our abilities. Proverbs 3 reminds Christians, “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.” The United Methodist Women would like to thank each member of the Hayes Barton Methodist congregation for fostering the women of our church to “act.”

As a result of the November 2018 Humble Heart Bazaar, over $65,000.00 will be distributed to the following organizations through the grant application process and approval. Grants range from $1,000 - $3,000 according to requests and availability. The members of the UMW have made efforts to “be present” and volunteer at each of the organizations and have information for volunteer opportunities and needs for each of the nonprofits. Likewise, there are volunteer opportunities on Saturday, September, 8:00 am – 12:00 noon, during Scattered to Serve. (register now at hbumc..org/signups) with many of the present and past grant recipients including A Place at the Table, The Boys and Girls Club, Haven House, InterAct, Inter Faith Food Shuttle, Parkview Manor, Raleigh Rescue Mission, Salvation Army, Step Up Ministries, the YMCA, and the Women’s Center. Thanks be to God for the “open hearts, open minds, and open doors” of the Hayes Barton United Methodist Women who take faith and service seriously!

While the Hayes Barton UMW's Bazaar serves to address the needs of local mission needs, we have many UMW and church members volunteering with world mission needs! The Hayes Barton UMW would like to make a contribution to world missions and hope you will make plans now to attend the Fall Kickoff Dinner on Wednesday, September 11 in the church courtyard for Angus Barn burgers with proceeds benefiting world missions! Please plan to join and volunteer for the September 11th Wednesday dinner!
